[linux] rsync probleem

Hallo,

Als ik via rsync iets van mijn desktop naar de laptop wil copieren
krijg ik deze errors:

mercury:~# rsync vulcan:/home/johanw/.newsrc /home/johanw/
root op vulcan's password:
stderr is not a tty - where are you?
stty: standard input: Invalid argument
protocol version mismatch - is your shell clean?
(see the rsync man page for an explanation)
rsync error: protocol incompatibility (code 2) at compat.c(69)

mercury is de laptop, vulcan de desktop. De korte naam vulcan resolved
op de laptop.

Als ik het als gewone user probeer probeert hij het via m'n ssh key,
maar dat lukt ook niet:

mercury:~> rsync vulcan:/home/johanw/.newsrc /home/johanw

Heeft iemand een idee wat hier mis is?
