[linux] geklooi met mail bij upc

Ik ben pas verhuis van maastricht naar amsterdam en heb daar
een account genomen bij upc. 

Alles werkt prima behalve email. Ik krijg steeds authorisatie
problemen zoals:

fetchmail: pop3.upcmail.nl: opportunistic upgrade to TLS failed, trying
to continue. fetchmail: POP3> USER a.volovic
fetchmail: POP3< +OK please send PASS command
fetchmail: POP3> PASS *
fetchmail: POP3< -ERR invalid user name or password.
fetchmail: invalid user name or password.
fetchmail: Authorization failure on a.volovic op mail.upcmail.nl

Weet iemand wat hiervan de oorzaak kan zijn. Gebruikt upc een of ander
speciaal protocol.

De helpdesk knuppels kunnen geen zinnig antwoord geven (behalve dat
het hun wel lukt).

NB Het moet inderdaad a.volovic zijn en niet a.volovics omdat ze
   m'n naam verkeerd gespeld hebben.
   Verder kan ik m'n adres/password niet wijzigen omdat de toegang
   tot de site defect is.
