Kortom, alles is 'root' behalve het bestand 'ppmtospl2'.

Nu ga ik je idee uit proberen met dat "chown" commando.

De eerste poging levert dit op:

Nu probeer ik het met sudo erbij:

Géén foutmelding. Nu even nachecken.

Nu zou het in orde moeten zijn. Ik herstart nu laptop en printer en
neem de proef op de som. Ik ga terug naar K-Menu>System Settings>
Hardware > Printer Configuration > Local printers > ML-1660_Series. Ik
zet de printer aan en controleer de aansluitingen plus instellingen.
De printerdefinities die ik heb uitgeprobeerd, komen van de
PPD-bestanden voor de Samsung ML-1710, ML-1650 en ML-1610. Die voor de
ML-1660 is niet te vinden op de website van Samsung, niet in de
"foomatic" database en ook niet op de CD die met de printer is
meegekomen. Bij de rubriek "Printer state" staat nu alleen: "idle".
Dat klinkt goed, dus ik probeer de printertest een aantal keren, na
elke keer een herstart van de PC en het opslaan van de gewijzigde
instellingen. Ik krijg de melding dat ik nu de print opdracht nr. 256.
257, 258, enz. heb gegeven. Maar er komt geen snipper papier door de
printer heen. Een druk op de knoppen "print self test" en "Clean print
heads" levert alleen een foutmelding op:
CUPS SERVER ERROR. There was an error during the cups operation:
'client-error-document-format-not-supported'.

Enig idee hoe verder te gaan?
