[linux] Root - Access Control List & File System Symbol "+"

Hallo Linux,

Bij het aankoppelen van een USB-stick maar ook bij een externe harddisk
valt (nu pas!) op dat er een "+" symbol achter de parent-directory wordt
geplaatst:

$ ls -al /media/opa/looydata/
total 8
drwx------  1 opa  opa  4096 Mar  9 11:05 .
drwxr-x---+ 3 root root 4096 Mar  9 11:04 ..
[..]


Op Archlinux [1] staat het volgende over dit "+" symbol:

"A single character that specifies whether an alternate access method
applies to the file. When this character is a space, there is no
alternate access method. A . character indicates a file with a security
context, but no other alternate access method. A file with any other
combination of alternate access methods is marked with a + character,
for example in the case of Access Control Lists [2]. "


Uit het hele verhaal begrijp ik dat bij het mounten van een File System
dit automatisch gebeurd wanneer de ACL-optie aan staat of kan default
worden ingeschakeld voor een File System door dit in /etc/fstab op te nemen.


Kan me bij het gebruik van ACL iets voorstellen wanneer het gaat om
*niet-root* users maar waarom dit *default* voor root gedaan wordt bij
de parent-directory van een File System wat wordt aangekoppeld ontgaat mij.

Root heeft sowieso toch al root-rechten wanneer een File System wordt
aangekoppeld waarom dit via ACL nogmaals bevestigen door de ACL-optie
standaard in te schakelen op een systeem of zie ik dit verkeerd?
