In het van RedHet afgeleide OpenNA Linux en derivaten daarvan
heb ik met succes zitten grutten in /etc/DIR_COLORS. Ik weet niet
of Suse 10 dat op dezelfde manier doet maar toch.

| By default all directory listings are coloured. This means that
| different filetypes and files with certain permissions are shown in
| different colours when you give the ls(1) command. Depending on your
| preference, this can be either extremely helpful or extremely
| annoying. You can switch off the coloured ls by editing the file
| /etc/DIR_COLORS. Near the top of the file there is an entry that looks
| like this:

| COLOR tty
|
| This means that the output of ls will show colours when output on a
| tty, but not when output is redirected to a pipe. You can switch off
| the colour feature completely by changing this entry to read:

| NOTICE: The file /etc/DIR_COLORS configures the system-wide default
| for ls colourisation. The default can be overruled on a per user basis
| by copying the file /etc/DIR_COLORS to $HOME/.dir_colors and
