[linux] video en tv blues

Na een geheel nieuwe installatie van kubuntu 9.10 leek alles te werken, 
behalve dan dat de video hardnekkig op 800x600 bleef staan. Vreemd: bij 
de oude installatie had ik gewoon een stel veel hogere resoluties. 
Tvtime werkte ook.

Vervolgens de upgrades gedaan, plain vanilla, niks raars extra.
Een nieuwe kernel,  Linux 2.6.31-20-generic. Maar die wilde niet booten 
wegens video problemen. Fallback to Linux 2.6.31-14-generic. Die boot 
wel (800x600) maar geen tvtime. Geneuzel als volgt (zie onder):

Wat zou ik nou moeten doen om het video systeem, dat vroeger altijd 
werkte, weer op poten te krijgen?
